To celebrate the Supra's debut in the 1994 JGTC season, Toyota Racing Development (TRD) produced a road-legal version of the competition car dubbed the 3000GT.
Like the GT500 class super-touring Supra, it came with a widebody kit featuring a redesigned front bumper, wider front and rear fenders, a new front splitter, and a larger bumper intake that took in twice as much airflow as the standard car. Other aero enhancements included a flattened floor that helped generate more downforce, a vented hood, and a prominent rear wing. Toyota built just 35 examples of the TRD 3000GT, each with a specially numbered VIN plate that re-classified the car as a TRD 3000GT rather than a Toyota Supra. Alternatively, each component of the TRD conversion was sold separately as dealer-fit accessories.
List of visual modifications: TRD widebody kit with wing, 18 inch TRD 5 spoke wheels, TRD steeringwheel, TRD shiftknob, reupholstered Sparco bucketseats to resemble the original Recaro seats, half cage with 4 point harness.
Performance mods: More boost, sportier suspension, wider tires, upgraded intercooler, upgraded exhaust and an upgraded clutch. For optimal air flow the hood vents have been opened.
