The Aston Martin Vantage GT3 was introduced in 2019. It was revealed to the public at the 86th 24 Hours of Le Mans, with the Vantage GT3 making its racing debut in the Michelin Aston Martin Racing Le Mans Festival. The new Vantage GT3 and GT4 were derived from the new Aston Martin Vantage GTE.

The Vantage GT3 is powered by the same 4.0-litre turbocharged V8 engine as the critically-acclaimed Aston Martin Vantage road car. The engine is optimized by Aston Martin Racing and produces a boost-variable 535bhp and 700 Nm of torque. The car weighs in dry at 1245kg.

The Vantage GT3 features a lightweight aluminium chassis, based on the road car, and includes a steel roll-cage, an Xtrac six-speed sequential gearbox, an Alcon motorsport multi-plate clutch, Ohlins four-way adjustable dampers, and Alcon brakes and Bosch Motorsport ABS.

The Vantage GT3 remained in development until it was homologated on 1 March, 2019. It replaced Aston Martin’s most successful customer car, the V12 Vantage GT3, which continued to win races seven years after it was first introduced to the market. The V12 Vantage GT3 had been particularly successful in the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup and British GT series.

The Vantage GT3 was designed to maintain an optimum performance window for professional drivers to be competitive in, while also allowing inexperienced racers to drive quickly. The popularity of the Vantage GT3’s predecessor was largely due to this balance of accessibility and performance.
