Honda's best selling Jazz model (available as the FIT in the US/Asia) evolved into it's second generation model in the autumn of 2007. While maintaining the concept of a compact hatchback with a roomy interior and luggage space, the front end was lowered and the base of the A pillars were moved forward to give a bolder design that emphasized its size presence.
Japanese sales began in October 2007. Facelifted models, and the hybrid version, arrived in October 2010. Models available in Japan are the 1.3-litre and 1.5-litre variants consisting of the 13G, 15XH and the top-of-the-line RS.
The RS is given to high-performance grade of FIT, and from minor revisions in 2010, the FIT RS has become even more attractive and sporty. The special aero parts have been changed to a dynamic design that clearly differentiates it from the standard model. A performance rod connecting the right and left sides of the frames has been added, as well as special shock-absorbers and springs, different settings for the stabilisers and a 6-speed manual transmission.
