The Toyota Sera is a sporty 2+2 hatchback designed by Toyota to be sold solely for the Japanese market from 1990 to 1995. It was initially unveiled in 1988 as the Toyota AXV-II concept car in almost production-ready form. The name comes from the French word meaning 'will be', indicative of both the overall futuristic design and also the closeness of the concept car to the final production version. The Sera is most notable for its glass canopy and butterfly doors which tilt up and forward when opened. The dramatic styling later inspired Gordon Murray in the design of the iconic McLaren F1.

The Toyota Sera utilized the same platform as the Toyota Starlet, and a wide variety of aftermarket Toyota Racing Development parts are available. This tuned version of the Sera is outfitted with TRD aftermarket parts including fully adjustable coilovers, progressive spring options, antiroll bars, a short throw shifter, forged monoblock aluminium 15 inch TRD T3 rims, a high flow exhaust system, and all available options of gear sets and final drive gears to choose from. It also features the optional OEM fog lamps for a sportier look.
